Bend, Ore. — Oregon’s fastest growing city became home to a second BestMed Urgent Care on Oct. 16, 2023, when the Oregon-based company opened at the site of the recently closed Mountain Medical Urgent Care. Located at 1302 NE 3rd, the new BestMed offers complete urgent care and occupational medicine services. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“When the owner of Mountain Medical, Tonya Busack, decided to retire, she reached out to us to see if we would be interested in opening a second location in Bend. Coincidentally, we were already considering just that,” said Jim Ashby, chief executive officer of BestMed’s parent company, Community Care Partners (CCP). “When we met her and her team, it was clear that we had a shared vision of providing the community outstanding, personal care and partnering to keep this location open would be mutually beneficial.”
Ashby said things progressed quickly from there. When Mountain Medical closed at the end of September, CCP began making preparations to reopen under the BestMed brand, which included hiring and onboarding the existing staff.
Like the BestMed on Sisemore, the clinic on NE 3rd provides high-quality, non-emergency care for people whose illnesses and injuries aren’t life threatening but can’t wait days or weeks for an appointment with a primary care provider. Treatment is available for a wide range of conditions including upper respiratory infections, sprains and strains, sinus infections and minor fractures. The clinic is also equipped with diagnostic tools such as X-ray and EKG and provides on-site testing for flu, COVID-19, RSV, strep and pregnancy.
“We’re also really excited to now offer on-site medication dispensing at all of our clinics in Oregon,” Hauser added. “Now, patients can get some of the most common non-opioid medications, such as antibiotics, when they check out. Afterall, who wants to have to wait for the pharmacy to fill a prescription when you’re feeling awful? It’s one more way we work to fulfill our mission to provide ‘Care That is Personal.’”
