In 1989, Frank James Garber, Jr. entered the health care field, starting as a supervisor of pool and gym treatment areas at Physical Therapy West. A few years later, he pursued a career as a flight nurse on a fixed wing aircraft for Acadian Ambulance and Air Med Services, Inc.
In 1993, he started a 14-year tenure at Lafayette General Medical Center, where he held varying positions ranging from the weekend nursing supervision/on-site administrator to hyperbaric nursing and wound care.
He later served as a clinical Instructor for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s nursing program, teaching adult health and critical care. From 2007-2012, he worked as an emergency department nurse practitioner for several hospitals and medical centers throughout Louisiana.
He began his current position as a medical operations officer and health care provider at Community Care Partners, LLC/SouthStar Urgent Care in 2012. His duties include providing education and support to staff and health care providers; hiring clinical providers; providing medical support for area managers and practice supervisors; and onboarding new providers.
