“We live in a small community that’s like a family. What matters most to me are my relationships with my patients. I care deeply for all of my patients.”

Since earning her accreditation as a Family Nurse Practitioner (NP) in 2013, Jessica Guido has worked with a wide range of patients, from infants to adults 98-years young, helping them to understand and treat such complex chronic conditions as hypertension, diabetes, depression, and other mental illnesses. She even moonlights as a veterinarian on her family’s cattle ranch at times. Yet if she has a special place in her heart for pediatrics, it may be because of her other full-time role: that of a mom. “My husband Wes and I have two children, Shaye and Devree.” Jessica’s love and commitment to raising her children have also made her a strong advocate for organ donation. “My daughter is a liver transplant patient. I was her living donor, but the first surgery failed. She received a cadaveric donation from our angel, Melissa.”

Jessica was motivated at a young age to study medicine out of a desire to help people make the kinds of changes and choices that can allow them to lead their best, most fulfilling lives. “Throughout my career, I have been continually inspired by the ability to make changes for someone that changes their life entirely.” Jessica graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Oregon Health & Science University and then went on to earn her Master of Science Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Graceland University in Des Moines, Iowa where she also received magna cum laude recognition. “After graduation, I worked as an intensive care unit (ICU) nurse for five years. During that time, I traveled to many ICUs throughout Oregon to help fill the need for trauma and wound care specialists.”

When not working, Jessica loves spending time at home with her husband and children on her family’s ranch in Roseburg. “I love all things outdoors, including hunting, camping, ATV riding, and fishing.” Not only does Jessica believe in and maintain an active lifestyle, but she is also a strong advocate for a healthy diet—a foundational wellness strategy she continually works to instill in her patients. “Food is the fuel that decides how your body runs. Feed it the best fuel you can, and you will feel so great!”
