About Stephen
Stephen Garratt is a dedicated nurse practitioner with a strong foundation in family practice. He brings a whole-person approach to care, grounded in the belief that health outcomes improve when patients feel heard, supported, and empowered. His clinical philosophy emphasizes preventive care, patient education, and the importance of building trusted relationships with his patients.
Stephen’s path to nursing began with a broader academic background in the humanities, which continues to inform his compassionate and thoughtful approach to patient care. He completed his Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing at Johns Hopkins University, where he developed an appreciation for evidence-based practice and community health.
He is particularly interested in supporting patients across all stages of life and is known for creating a welcoming, collaborative environment in the clinic. Whether managing chronic conditions or addressing acute concerns, Stephen strives to meet each patient where they are and guide them toward their health goals with respect and empathy.
Outside of work, Stephen lives in Eugene, Oregon, with his wife, their son, and four beloved dogs. He enjoys hiking, camping, gardening, traveling, discovering new cuisines, and getting lost in a good book.
